'Kids on Wheels' day a success at East Launceston Primary!
There were over 300 students who took part in East Launceston Primary Schools first successful ‘Kids on Wheels’ day as part of their term 1 Stride and Ride event. Students rode their bikes and scooters to utilise all available space on the Oxford St oval. Bike riders rode bush tracks and grass tracks on the oval, street rides up Oxford and Ann Street were popular. The basketball courts were used for a scooter track complete with some ramps built by our ground staff.
All the students rode at recess and lunch for an hour in total. They really enjoyed it and want it to be a weekly event! The parents were very positive about encouraging children to Move Well at East Launceston Primary and would like to see it as a regular event. With limited space on their school grounds, it shows what you can do for all students to be active.
