What is HYP?

HYP stands for Healthy Young People in Tasmania's secondary schools.

HYP provides a set of resources to help schools make healthy choices easier in the school setting, through six missions.

The missions are designed to be undertaken by groups or teams and succeed best when a whole-school approach is used.

About the HYP Resources

Each HYP mission has a set of supporting resources designed for secondary schools in Tasmania. Resources for each mission include:

  • tips for a whole-school approach
  • information for teachers, students and the school community
  • a school audit
  • sample lesson plans across Australian Curriculum areas
  • thinking tools for students
  • practical classroom resource lists.


HYP resources are copyright. They may be downloaded and reproduced in whole or in part for their intended uses. Resources may be reproduced in whole or in part for use in schools and for study or training purposes, subject to the inclusion of an acknowledgement of the source (Public Health Services, DHHS, Tasmania).
